Membership

Membership in Psi Chi is an earned lifetime honor in recognition of your academic excellence and achievement. In addition to being an honors society, Psi Chi is an exciting network of like-minded colleagues and experienced psychologists – a springboard for professional and personal growth. As a member you gain access to a myriad of new opportunities – leadership development, collaboration with other psychology students, and the chance to network with faculty and other psychology professionals. Membership is exclusive; currently enrolled undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty members must meet the following requirements:

Undergraduates

Undergraduate students majoring in psychology – or majoring in neuroscience and minoring in psychology – must have completed at least three semesters of the college course, have completed nine semester hours of psychology courses, have a minimum overall grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, and have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 in psychology courses.

Graduates

Graduate students shall have a minimum grade point average of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale in all graduate courses, including psychology.

Faculty

Faculty members of the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, Indiana University Bloomington, and other psychologists who met the current criteria when they were students may become active members of the chapter.
